This is Blaise...in the corner.

What I didn't photograph was how he was pushing Sam out of the corner, so he could stand in the corner.

He wasn't there as a punishment. He's actually happy to be there.
Apparently, my children spend way too much time in the corner, and somehow make it seem appealing to Blaise!

Blaise is ONE! (and then some)

A belated post to our beloved Blaise. He turned one back in February, but it was overshadowed. He was in no way forgotten that day, though.

In fact, I held him just a bit tighter that day.

He's a very happy baby...most of the time. Cruises everywhere, but good enough to not get into everything (yet!)
He loved his first birthday cupcake- the same I've made for all my kiddos. Half wheat flour, butter, lots of honey and cinnamon. Yum.

Big brother tries so hard to take care of you, but the dexterity, and knowledge is sometimes just not there. Other times, he's the best playmate in the world. He loves to rub your head when I'm holding you and say to me "this Blaisy is chubba-wub"

There's no denying the special bond you have with your oldest brother. From day one, my rambunctious, all-boy boy has taken a liking to you, and you calm him. You bring out his deep, devoted, tender side, and it brings me to tears to watch him take care of you. Mostly because he loves you so dearly. Sometimes because he, well, he's all boy, and you are still a baby. :)

And then there's your one and only older sister. God knew we needed a 'second mother' in this family! She is such a blessing to you, the way she instinctively responds to you and gets you just what you need.

And then there's Mom and Dad, who have loved you before you were even born, and even more so now that you're with us. And as Mom says so often, "We're so happy God gave us this Blaisy." It's true, you are a gift to us from God, and your ever-loving Father cares more for you than you could ever imagine. Never forget that. For this short time you are in our precious care, we will continue to lather on the love, and abide in the joy you bring our family. Happy Birthday Blaise!!!

What Peytons do for fun

Dad had a couple really old laptops at home. We told DD they were there and that he could have them. DD would ask every time I came home from my dad's house if I brought his laptop.
One day, I we finally remembered to bring it home with us.
This is what he was waiting for.
For my five year old- pure joy.

St. Patrick's Day was fun for my kiddos and I, as usual. The only thing different was that I had to teach my dancers in the morning. Thankfully, friends were able to cart Rose around from show to show, and I met up with them in the afternoon. The shows were fine, but I think I had more fun last year at the different places we went. Rose loved every minute of it, and would've danced all the evening shows too...if she knew they existed. :) Maybe someday.
