Blaise, Ah, my Blaise.  There's no one like him in the world.  He's three, going on four in Feb. and just a delight. Lovely bubbly personality.  All the enthusiasm of a three year old...and then some.
So the other day, we were in the kitchen, and he had his hands reaching up to me beckoning me to pick him up.  His hands were just the height of my belly, and inevitably landed on my protruding middle. And he asks,
'So what's in there???' pulling at my sweater.  The sweetness, and honesty, and sheer curiosity was so adorable!!!  I looked at him a little in disbelief.  I guess he didn't get the memo a month ago when we told the kids about the next baby.  I guess he thought weekly discussions of whether he wanted a boy or girl were just normal conversations among children in his world.
So I smiled and knelt down, and told him there was a baby in my belly, and that we're going to have another baby.  He smiled, too, of course.
Later that evening, I saw him go over to Sam and tell him we were going to have another baby.  It was so adorable.
Then, after much thinking, he came over to me, and with the most sincere face, said, 'So is the baby in your belly a girl, or a boy?'  I told him we didn't know and we'd have to wait till it was born to see.  In which he quickly ran to his buddy, Sam, and told him as much.
